The staff I have met is very nice, especially the men, the girls not so much. I have only accessed to the pool to go swimming twice or 3 times a week which was my main purpose for joining the club. The water is warm 🎉 The bathrooms could be cleaner but it's also the way customers use them. My actual complaint is about the trainers, I wish they had the decency to ask you if you don't mind sharing a lane with another adult. I completely understand that they're training kids but it's rude to just tell the kids to use such lane when it was being used by someone else. Someone from the staff was surprised by the short time I spent there and when I told them the reason why, they apologized. They have to find a solution for that!

This is a God honest review. No lies told here! We went here as a family for the 1st time today. Check in went great, kudos to the young lady at the desk! Upon entering the pool area, it was HOT, hotter than outside. The water was also warm. The 3ft end of the pool was closed upon us arriving(we arrived around 1230.) It was supposed to open at 1. Upon waiting the half hour for it to open, we saw a lifeguard pouring chemicals in right at 1pm as it was due to open! She told us it would be another half an hour before they could check the PH levels. The obstacle course in the pool area looked fun so my boys went to play on it. Not even 5 minutes after they had been on it, a lifeguard came & told them it was closed. So we decided to go get drinks from the concession stand. (Very limited selection) The worker at concession said nobody buys the red hot dogs yet they won't change those either..1 worker told us we could bring drinks into the pool area but upon trying to another worker said we could not(they're not on the same page at all) if you know what I mean! Next we went to play basketball. We had brought our own ball which we were told we could not use in the basketball court area. M

I am enjoying our membership here. My one piece of advice: bring your own hand 🧼 soap. I don’t understand what it is, but at Elgin Blue Memorial Park and at JALARC—there is a lack of hand soap. I have literally brought my own bottle multiple times. The last 3 times (over 3 weeks) that I have been to JALARC, every single soap dispenser was empty. The building is nice, but can we get some soap 🧼… please? And can we always have this basic hygiene necessity in the bathrooms at Hoke County Parks and Rec facilities where thousands of families frequent? I would so appreciate that. UPDATE: it has now been 6 weeks—still no handsoap in the women’s pool restroom. I came out of the stall and a visitor from another town was trying the soap dispensers. I offered her my hand sanitizer I had brought with me. She was thankful. I asked the lifeguard who I could talk to about the handsoap absence—she said she’s been asking for a long time and getting no results. Women have periods. Human blood. We NEED hand soap.

Had our daughter's Birthday party here. It was a great value for the room and the use of the tables and space. We had plenty of time to swim, eat and enjoy birthday cake. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. My daughter has already said she wants her birthday next year at this same location and several of our party guests expressed their desire to have their future parties here as well.

Here because of the snow day, the kids didn’t have school, so we came to the indoor kids’ pool. It was our first time here, and I was a little worried because the reviews weren’t great, but lifeguards Sydnee and Azari were so friendly that it completely brightened our visit. The lady at the front desk wasn’t rude at all — she was actually very kind. It wasn’t crowded, and even though the slide wasn’t running, it made sense since there weren’t many people. It’s about a 20-minute drive from our house, and I think I’ll come often whenever I have the time.
